Alain struggles in the aftermath. But so does Steven, running on little sleep and assisting police investigations left and right, all despite the kindness and support he bestows on Alain.
Alain would know if he paid attention.

The Masters 8 got the best of the best. The private floor of the 5-star hotel in the heart of the city, adoring fans from all over the world pouring in to catch a glimpse of their favorite champions, the chance of a lifetime to prove they were the strongest trainer in the world. Half of them would only be there for the first week, but they couldn't leave until that week was up. There was no doubt it was luxurious to a ridiculous degree, all of this just because he proved how strong he was to the world.
Suffice it to say, Alain was feeling a little out of place. For better or worse, Champions Steven and Diantha were there to help.
(or: The Masters 8 Tournament doesn't start as quickly and looking professional has never really been high on Alain's priorities list. If only his memories could be kinder.)

After all, who wouldn’t go silent at the face of one of Teyvat’s most influential people? (Never mind his previous connection to the Archon - after ten years away, she probably no longer recognizes him)
