Summary
Fresh blood on pale skin was nothing out of the ordinary to Nezumi. If anything, it was like an old friend; as twisted as that was. However, this was Shion’s blood, and it was on his hands in more ways than one. It was redder, slimier, and bore into him far more grotesque than his own.

Summary
Chuuya kept away until the full moon night he turned fifteen.
He wasn't sure how he had managed to keep his distance until then, resist the pull with every fibre of his being, but he just- couldn't do it anymore.
That night, he sneaked out of the window, slowly climbing down and silently dropping on the soft, damp grass. The moon was enormous in the sky, shining brightly over him. Chuuya pocketed his torch and started walking. When he reached the fence, he lifted himself up and sat on it, staring down at the darkness before him. It made the night seem bright as day in comparison. He swallowed.
He took some pebbles and bigger rocks out of a little pouch he had brought along, stared at them a little unsure, and threw a few in to gauge how deep it actually was. Like he had expected though, no sound came back to him, like the pit had simply absorbed that as well. He took a deep breath, and did it again, mostly to get rid of them all.
“Oi!” A voice, loud and pissed, reached him. “What the hell?!”
(Or, there's a pit at the end of Chuuya's garden, where he's not allowed to go. Ever. So, of course he does. That's how he found Dazai.)

Summary
“Somewhere along the line, Akutagawa noted that Atsushi had begun to less fit the image of the tiger and more fit the image of a bird. Uncaged and beautiful, his wings spread against the sun, harboring freedom Akutagawa couldn’t hope to taste unless vicariously on his lips. Akutagawa hadn’t even noticed his trajectory as Atsushi climbed into the sky, higher and higher until he was an unreachable silhouette in the distance, hadn’t noticed the unnatural shine of his feathers until the wax had already begun to rain from the sky.”

Summary
Change came while Atsushi was asleep. He woke, slowly, as he always did, to the ground shaking. It jostled his entire body, making old wounds ache and sting. He wondered why they hadn’t healed yet… probably the lack of food…
Light showered in, falling onto the wall in front of him and onto his back. If he focused hard enough, he could feel its warmth. How long has it been since he has felt warm? Why did the door open? Were they finally going to end his suffering?
Footsteps sounded behind him, walking towards where he lay, unmoving. He closed his eyes, before slowly opening them once more. He hoped his death would at least be quick.
The footsteps stopped. And then a whispered, “Jinko?”
