Summary
The girl dives out of the way in time, the Shadow’s maw just barely missing her head. Akechi intends to withdraw his weapon, call Hereward, do something, but before he can she’s snatching a broom from the entrance to the ramen bar and plunging the butt of it into the Shadow’s body. The Shadow howls, incapacitated, and she uses the opportunity to barrage it with more attacks, twirling the broom around like it’s her fucking birthright.
Akechi is too stunned to move. Eventually, the Shadow slinks away, retreating too far and too fast for either of them to chase it down.
“Aw,” she says, puffing out her cheeks, “I wanted to finish it off.”
… Maybe he should have intervened earlier. He gives her a long, proper look this time— her wild, red locks, her vibrant gaze, her uniform, now drenched in Shadow blood.
“What did you say your name was?” he asks.
“Shiomi,” she says, smiling brightly. “Kotone Shiomi.”
The appearance of a retired savior brings light to feelings Akechi long thought he’d buried.

Summary
“About that…” Ren says. Somewhere in the background, Hamuko can hear Aigis speaking calmly to whoever was at the door. She crosses out “thief” and “murderer” from her mental list of “things I need to deal with today”. “Well, I have something urgent to tell you.”
Hamuko fiddles nervously with the hem of her shirt. “Something urgent?”
“Yes, but... how should I put this…”
The sound of brisk footfall, decidedly not Aigis’s heavy steel step, approaches the bedroom at such speed Hamuko reconsiders the murderer-thief theory, but it’s not a masked man who appears at the door— instead, a disheveled, weary-looking Goro materializes, Koromaru having trotted after him to do figure eights around his legs.
Ren says finally, “If Goro shows up at your place at any point today, don’t freak out, okay?”
At the behest of Ren, Goro spends a weekend in Tatsumi Port Island.

Summary
“Nobody seems to know what to do with you. When I received the call, the warden seemed bewildered that you were even here at all.” It was a phone call that Naoto would not soon forget—the chilling way that the warden seemed to continually forget what he was asking mid-sentence, unable to latch onto Akechi’s name as if his existence was something contingent on his direct and immediate presence.
Akechi bared his teeth, eyes in shadow. “Nobody has ever known what to do with me,” he said, voice dripping acid.
“Then, this should be refreshing for you,” he said, delighting in the way that Akechi’s gaze sharpened as Naoto plucked a nonexistent piece of lint from his coat. “You’re coming with me. To Inaba.”
At the end of P5R, the world forgets Akechi.

Summary
Do you want kids? Ren asked Akechi two years ago, the night they decided to get married. Yes. He did. They do. So when they’re given the chance to adopt a pair of sisters, ten-year-old Maya and two-year-old Sai, they take it.
They’re prepared for a rough transition: for arguments, and upset, and struggle. That, they can handle, or find ways to handle. They are not prepared for the resurgence of an old and familiar evil that threatens to destroy the tenuous family they’ve built.
They probably should have expected it, though. After all, this always happens to them.
[Takes place 17 years post-game and 16 years post-Doomsday. You don't have to have read my other fics to start here, but maybe you should?]
