Tony often forgot that people didn’t see Peter the same way he did. They didn’t see the confidence and capability that Peter demonstrated in the lab or as Spiderman. They couldn’t see past the geeky science pun t-shirts or the genuine delight and excitement he got when a new Lego set came out. All they saw was a geeky, young boy who fumbled his words occasionally, tripped over his untied shoelaces and was enjoying his childhood as much as he could.
