Summary
After Captain Phoebus tries to arrest Esmeralda inside Notre Dame, Quasi believes he is a danger to himself and his friends. But their mutual goal to help the Roma dancer brings them together in ways that will lead Quasi to question everything he believes about what makes a monster and what makes a man.
_______________Then again, if God was going to condemn his soul, Phoebus thought it should be for the men he killed in battle, not for the ones who made him into a blushing fool.
____[Frollo] said it as if in benediction; as if he expected an ensuing amen. He promised violence like it was scripture and dressed lust in venerated prayer.
Phoebus would’ve preferred to face monstrous evil at the end of a blade.
At least a blade couldn’t be disguised as salvation.
____If the Court of Miracles made Quasi feel furthest from God, he made Phoebus feel closest to Him. The man had a soul that was very nearly divine. Like an angel. Or a saint.
And there was only one form of worship Phoebus knew well.

Summary
Aziraphale returns to Heaven as Archangel only to discover that God has moved on to other projects. He has an idea for how to help Heaven and Hell find something to live (exist?) for that is better than ending life on earth, but he'll need Crowley's help with the tempting.
_____
“Virtuous Aziraphale, you have passed God’s test!”
Aziraphale stopped short. A band of angels had gathered in front of the elevator. Michael, Uriel, and Saraquiel remained stoically silent. Sandalphon was holding his arms out as if in benediction, a scroll clasped in his right hand. Raphael was waving a golden “welcome home” banner. Baraquiel tossed half-hearted fistfulls of golden confetti into the air.
Whatever welcome Aziraphale had expected from Heaven, it hadn’t been this. . . welcome-y.
______
“Look, Aziraphale. When you create something and put it out there. . . it stops being wholly yours. I can’t control how humanity interprets my directions. That’s the point of freewill. It’s their choice.”
______
They were a study in opposites. The kind of study that, upon any actual studying, proved to not be opposite at all, but parts to a whole.
