Azula and Zuko are now finally back on the same wavelength! Kinda... Sadly, being reunited with your best friend doesn"t mean that your hallucinations and paranoia suddenly stop popping up when it"s the least convenient.
Oh well, hopefully the Gaang will learn to live with a new member in their group, even if said member is the guy who killed Aang that one time.Series

Summary
Sokka and Katara had just watched their mother die at the hands of a Fire Nation soldier, then were forced to travel to the land of the very people they had been taught to fear. Thankfully, they are given over to a prince who understands what they"re going through. Losing your mother? Surrounded by people who hate you? Maybe they have enough in common to be something like friends.

Summary
After the events of War Crimes, Sokka and Zuko have escaped Zhao’s warship and are fleeing across the Earth Kingdom. As well as unfamiliar terrain, they have to navigate their shared trauma, work out where they fit into the war, and their place in each others lives.
Sokka is aware that being friends with the enemy is going to bring complications, but he probably should have guessed that being friends with Zuko in particular, was going to be a bit like dunking your head repeatedly into a bucket of angry Fire Ferrets.
Katara is also grappling with the confusion of befriending an enemy, something that doesn’t prove as difficult as she had expected with the bond of shared, furious grief bridging old wounds. (Learning a new way to look at her bending doesn"t hurt either)
Azula, struggling with the Fire Lord’s mistrust, encounters a few nasty surprises and has to make some difficult decisions. Luckily, she is a great deal better at making sensible choices than her brother.
Her father may have made a slight tactical error.

Summary
An AU where the four nations speak different languages:
The plan had been simple...
Step 1. Break the Avatar out of the Pohuai Stronghold.
Step 2. Drag the Avatar back to his ship.
Step 3. Sail home.
Step 4. Present the Avatar to his father and have his honor restored.Nowhere in the plan had Zuko accounted for becoming injured and the Avatar dragging him back to their camp. It certainly hadn"t accounted for them taking him prisoner. Nor had it accounted for the added complication of Avatar"s companions not having the decency to learn the Common Dialect. Only the Avatar understands him and communication in the group is a tangled mess.
Because when you don"t speak the same language, how can you find a Common Ground?
