Summary
Robert Coste finds himself attending the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta at the special request of the manager and head coach of the US fencing team. And, sure, Robert wasn’t selected to fence this time around – and he’s not a coach, or at least not exactly – but he’s here anyway, as an ill-defined USA Fencing ‘official observer’, and luminary of the sport.
Robert’s not expecting the work to be difficult or particularly interesting. It’s just another Olympic Games, and he’s not even competing. But he needs the money, and he figures the diversion should keep him out of trouble – and away from Karen – for a few days.

Seiji was still frowning at the road, but Nicholas had become a scholar in Seiji expressions, and knew when Seiji was doing a frown that was also a smile. Seiji was doing a frown-smile now, which communicated he was pleased to see Nicholas and happy to show him around. Nicholas reached over to shove Seiji’s shoulder and watched in satisfaction as the frown-smile slider edged further over to the smile side.

Summary
At some point it had become unignorable to Seiji that his friendship with Nicholas was by far the most physical relationship he had ever had with anyone. He had a catalog of touches that he’d accumulated over the school year. The result was that now he knew Nicholas intimately: his shape, his size, the feel of him, his smell, the sounds he made in exertion, in surprise, in frustration, in victory. And Seiji could call on any of them, any number of them, in any combination, at any time. Such as when doing French homework. Or showering. Or falling asleep.
