Summary
In the days after the War, Harry’s entire state of being can be summed up by one word: numb.
The death and destruction he sees around him—the futility of it all—juxtaposed with the rabid media circus he was embroiled in at any given time was enough to give anyone a crisis.
Harry wakes up with ash on his tongue and the images of the dead seared into his eyelids. He steps out of his house and has to actively avoid throngs of screaming fans, often sidestepping an underwear or two aimed for his face. His mind was stretched thin like a rubber band and all he does is wait for the day it snaps.

Until he puts on the Black Lordship ring, takes on the family mantle and accidentally restores the tapestry to its original glory. Only to discover something that wasn't there before.

“Now listen up, as the power decreed in me by title of Godfather, I’m ordering you both to take two days off.”
James blinks, brows furrowing downward. “Two days off…what?”
“Parenting,” Sirius replies succinctly.
Now it was Lily’s turn to blink rapidly in shock. “Sirius—what—?”
“Look,” he makes himself comfortable on the bed, entering it properly so that his back is fully against the headboard pressed up against Lily’s skin. He tries very very hard not to think about the warmth of it, nor how soft it feels against his bare ankle.
“I don’t know if you guys have seen yourself in the mirror recently—“
“No time for it.” “Nope.”
“—yeah, exactly, but you look like death has warmed over—“
“If Death was called Harry James Potter, sure,” Lily mutters under her breath.
“And I don’t know why you didn’t call me to help you but now that I’m here, I’m taking over,” he finishes. Their little comments only solidified his decision. These two needed some serious R&R, stat.

Sirius loves his godson. Taking care of him for a few days shouldn’t be too hard, should it? Too bad, he didn’t consider the implications of being around James and Lily Potter for his heart.

Summary
Given that Dumbledore’s decisions and choices had led directly to Sirius’s death Harry didn’t really have it in him at the moment to care about his reputation or the Headmaster’s or whether people believed him about Voldemort’s return.
He’d done his part.
He’d been the sacrifice and witness, he’d tried to warn them, he’d fallen into the trap, he’d shown them all, if they still wanted to deny the truth and get themselves killed that wasn’t his problem anymore.
Especially since among all of the apologies and retractions and admittances of Voldemort’s return that he’d seen plastered across the Prophet not one of them carried the truth of Sirius.
His godfather had died just as reviled by the people he’d died in part to save as he’d lived and that...that made something hot and burning and dark catch fire in the core of him.

Summary
(Expanded and full length story based on the two-shot Not Just for Aesthetics)
After barely escaping death at the Dark Lord's hands with some sensible choices (and some sharp antlers) the Potters hide away in the muggle world, dragging Sirius with them. They intend to raise Harry in the non-magical world for safety and teach him as much as they can to prepare him for when they return. They were going to make sure that their son had every advantage he could possibly get to keep himself safe from blood purists, house rivalries, inconvenient prophecies and those that believe them, and worst of all... school in general.
