Every member of the Salvaged remembered the day the Schlatt saved them.
The day they were orphaned and left in the hands of a crazed supervillain.
Tommy's apartment went up in smoke, with his parents still inside.
Ranboo was found wandering the streets after being kicked out of his home.
And Tubbo? Schlatt himself put a bullet between the eyes of the man who killed his family.
All three of the boys were brought to the abandoned railway that the Anarchists called home. Obediently trailing the leader of the resistance: Shrapnel. He had long since been tired of the useless abilities he was able to acquire, so he decided it would be best to raise his own army.
Or. Kinda a Renagades AU? That one book by Marissa Meyer. Basically, Villian Benchtrio is because of evil Schlatt. Cue Hero SBI and Dream Team making friends as they all try to kill one another.

“Who are you to Jinx?” Vi’s voice was desperate, face pinched in distress.
Isha didn’t know. She didn’t have an answer. Jinx was her protector. Her sword and shield. She kept Isha safe and happy. She fed her and clothed her and gave her a whole place to sleep. Isha got toys and to play games. Jinx was safety and security and love.
She didn’t have a sign for it. There was never a need. It was Isha and Jinx and that was enough for them.

Jinx once told Isha that if she ever got into a tight spot, she could go to an address topside and look for the girl with pink hair. Isha had no idea who the pink-haired woman was, but when Jinx was kidnapped, Isha had to reach out for help, hoping the mysterious woman would help get Jinx back.

Leo blamed the Foot Clan. And Shredder. And Big Mama. "Besides, I'm sure he had a change of heart. Right, Lechuga?"
They both looked at Usagi expectantly. The rabbit took his time, twirling the pen in his fingers for a moment, before finally sighing. And in that same, emotionless voice, he announced:
"My boss fucking died."
Or; When Usagi and Leo first met, they fought.
