Summary
A hundred years after the Veil is torn down, Fen'Harel has fallen into myth, a cautionary tale of hubris. The Evanuris have returned to their rightful place, more powerful than ever, and rule over all of Thedas. Renehn is a humble slave and sentinel of Mythal, tasked with guarding the All-Mother herself, with no memory of her life before the Evanuris rose.
When Renehn discovers a massive wolf deep beneath the palace, a god imprisoned, her world is turned upside down. Sent careening back into the past, she wakes in chains, a strange mark on her palm. Named the herald of a god, at first Renehn want nothing more than to return to her own time — but this place and these people are somehow familiar to her.
As her memories slowly return, Renehn must use her knowledge of coming events to prevent the rise of the Evanuris and save the world from the fall of the veil.
But memories are fickle things, and she isn't remembering everything. Not yet.
