Part of him had hoped the human would simply pass out upon returning so that they could start tomorrow new, but that had been a foolish hope. They don’t say anything. The air’s heavy, and the only sound seems to be the persistent pounding of the rain outside.
The hush breaks, as sudden as a thunder clap, “Stay.”
