Summary
Viktor never escapes the Undercity. He never finds his way to Piltover's Academy. He never takes a job with Heimerdinger and dreams of bigger things. Instead, after ten years as Singed's apprentice, he finds two lost children on the worst night of their lives and gives them a home. In many ways, this changes everything. In others, it changes nothing at all.
“No. You’re going to do something much worse than killing Silco,” Viktor tells Benzo’s ward. “He wants you dead. Out of his path, as he continues to forge forward. Instead, you’re going to survive.”
Viktor offers the boy his hand. “We are obstacles. All three of us. We’ll take care of each other."
I’ll keep him alive. I’ll keep them both alive, he offers Benzo’s ghost. Vander’s, too. A meager attempt at atonement, perhaps, but it's the last thing he has left to give. -

Summary
Here’s the game they play: Viktor is a good boy. Jayce keeps saying it when they touch, when Viktor allows himself to be held and kissed. Good boy. It comes out without thinking the first time. Immediately Jayce sees the hunger in his face, the desperation, and he says the words again, slower, like if he’s just slow enough Viktor can pluck them from the air and eat them.
Viktor kisses him then for the first time, like he needs to taste the words on his mouth.
“Please,” he breathes into Jayce’s mouth, and he tastes like nothing. Jayce wants him to taste like sweetness, afternoon sunlight, resurrection.

Summary
Friends make friends stuff all the time, and Jayce did break Viktor's cane. It'd be a nice thing to do. A cane, plus some cool tools, and Jayce will be able to know he's a good friend. He likes this plan.
(Or, Jayce makes a new cane for Viktor. He then makes some more stuff. It spirals from there very, very quickly.)

Summary
Half a decade after Viktor leaves Piltover for good, a fragment of Hexcore permanently adhered to his soul, an old friend comes to him for help. This wouldn't be an issue, if the same old friend hadn't spent the last five years trying to hit him, very hard, with a really big hammer.
“You’re not real,” Viktor repeated, closing his eyes. Even with the knowledge that this was a dream, the gentle touch unraveled him. There was an impact crater where his heart should be.
The calloused pad of Jayce's thumb found the corner of Viktor’s mouth. “All right. I’ll bite – what’s your evidence for this hypothesis?”
Viktor smiled into the touch, felt it tug against Jayce's thumbprint. “Isn’t it obvious? You haven’t tried to kill me yet.”
