Summary
Everything began on a normal, if a little slow, Tuesday. Stiles had spent his morning volunteering at Deaton and Scott’s vet practice, petting kittens and puppies. Frankly, it was the best part of his week. When he came into work, he was immediately put on dispatch. As the Beacon County’s SLO officer, he had to be available for all supernatural related emergencies, which meant that he ran the dispatch or the front desk most of the time. This resulted in Stiles being even more jumpy and jittery than normal, since he had no way to dispel his energy.
“I think my cat is trying to summon a demon.” The voice coming from the phone was soft and grumpy sounding, but there was a hint of fear there that Stiles recognized. Scott’s voice had held that edge for months after he was bitten.
Stiles immediately sat up in chair. “Excuse me, sir?” he asked.

Summary
Bucky Barnes is an ex-professional ballet dancer now running his own dance school. He's kind, compassionate and clearly cares about the kids in his class and their dreams and goals - most of which involve getting to the stage where they can dance en pointe.
Steve Rogers is a perfectionist and owns En Pointe, the dance wear store nearest to Bucky's dance studio. It's almost like a right of passage when the kids in Bucky's class get to visit the store, not only because they finally get their pointe shoes, but because they get to see the infamous squabbling between Mr Barnes and Mr Rogers who clearly rub each other up the wrong way.... but is everything as it seems?

It happens because of his asthma of all things.
As soon as he feels short of breath he starts rooting through his messenger bag for his inhaler. Steve has a moment to think aha! and then fuck, before he's losing his grip on the thing and it’s skidding across the pavement and into an alleyway.
He freezes when he realizes he’s not alone.
Steve hears a muffled sound coming from behind the dumpster, but that’s not what makes him look; no, it’s the metallic scent in the air which, with a creeping feeling of dread, he hopes isn’t blood. He looks. It’s blood.
And there’s a man sitting right in a puddle of it, leaning heavily against the brick wall and clutching his side with a metal hand.
How Steve finds an injured Bucky, nurses him back to health, and takes down a HYDRA agent while he's at it.

“How’s the cabin without all of us crammed in there,” Steve asked the person. He paused for a moment then laughed again. “Yeah, I bet Pepper is happy, too. I know long it’s been since you two—”
Steve jumped when he turned and saw Bucky standing in the doorway. He would have been happy to keep listening to Steve speak softly into his phone if it meant he could stare at his back.
Steve jumped again when the person on the phone acknowledged him. “I’m fine, Tony. Yeah, no, yeah. I just got startled by something. No, he’s not trying to murder me. I’ll talk to you later.”

Alpine has lived with Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes for a year now, and overall, being their cat is pretty good. She gets compliments a lot, gets tuna on Special Occasions, and there’s always pets to be given whenever she wants them.
But she’s getting real tired of this whole slow-burn, constant-pining nonsense, and it’s going to end soon even if she has to take matters into her own paws.
