Summary
It’s instinct that makes him reach out and catch her wrist. He doesn’t think about the heat of her, the fact that until only hours before that move would have resulted in agony.
Karlach freezes, staring down at his hand on her arm.
Dammon lets go of her in an instant, snatching his hand away from her as if he really had been burned, and suddenly he’s the one apologizing. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have—”
“Do that again.” Her voice is quiet, filled with something like wonder.
He blinks. “Do what?”
She looks at him, and he can see the fire in her eyes, blazing just as hot and bright as ever.
“Touch me.” She says.
Oh.Surrounded by the endless hunger and darkness of the Shadow-Cursed Lands, Karlach and Dammon find some comfort in one another.

Summary
“You’re burning blue,” Dammon whispers.
Huh? “Huh?”
“You’re burning blue.” He rests his palm on my chest — oh shit, I really am burning blue. I… I’m burning blue, but — but I’m not burning him!
“You’re…” My hand’s fucking shaking as I press it over his. “You don’t feel that? Not even a little singe?”
“Not even a little singe.” His eyebrows do that little mischief-quirky thing. “I told you, I’m good.”

In other words: what if Dammon was the lucky guy who got to end Karlach's ten-year celibacy streak? 🙏 A smut scene written in Karlach's adorable larger-than-life voice.Series

Summary
“Uh -” Evie could feel herself starting to sweat a bit. A combination of fear and pressing up against a man who could explode and rip them to pieces at any moment. “How soon do you need to consume something?”
Gale closed his eyes and leaned against the wall. “It’s hard to be an expert on something like this but my conservative estimate would be as soon as possible.”
“How soon is ‘soon’?”
“Now, probably wouldn’t be too ambitious.”

Summary
“Magic can be divided up into two kinds: arcane, that from a caster, and divine, from the realms above and below—. Yes, Cora, you have a question?” Gale dropped his chalk to address his classroom and the raised hand of one of his students.
Cora, a bright girl with a smattering of freckles and her blonde hair tied into braids, dropped her hand, an odd blush on her pale skin. “Erm, i-it’s not exactly about the lesson,” she prefaced, causing a wave to titters amongst her classmates.
“That’s fine.” Gale had vowed not to be like the cantankerous professors he had growing up, vexed by the most innocuous of things such as a pin dropping. “We cannot control the wanderings of a curious mind.”
Cora knitted her fingers together, squirming in her seat. By the hungry gazes of her friends, Gale surmised she had been chosen to be their speaker. “I was just wondering...when is your wife going to visit?”
Like a clap of thunder, all of his students—even Ajax who notoriously slept through most lessons—jerked to attention. Their gazes as one swung towards him awaiting his answer with the kind of anticipation they only showed at the end of the lesson hour.

Summary
Gale was an eruption of movement before she could even finish, flinging the tome at her, the only thing saving her head from colliding with its thick spine was her quick reflexes.
“Don’t,” he spat. The veins of lightning on his forehead pulsed, the orb tattoo on his chest seething with a purple light. “Don’t you dare speak of her as if you know her wishes.” His hateful expression crumbled, revealing something hurting underneath. “You think I want this?” He swung his arms wide, to the state of his room. “You think I want any of this? I wanted her. I wanted a life together with her. We planned for a life together. I had bought books for her, to carry back to Waterdeep. I took her to the market one day, and she picked out curtains for us.” His voice wavered and he paused, sucking in a breath between his teeth. “I wanted her. That was all I wanted. But...apparently that was no simple request.”
“So what’s the plan here?” Shadowheart asked. She kept a wary eye out for any more flying tomes and gentled her tone. “Become a god and then, what? Bring her back?”
She waited for him to laugh at the ridiculous notion.
He didn’t, he only met her stare with his own.
