Summary
Lance gave up the chance to make a difference by giving up the Red Lion. He gave up his chance to be a hero. What he wants now is just to go home. He'll protect Earth and his family from the Galra as best he can when he gets there. That's his top priority now.
And sure, he stole the opportunity to make this decision from Keith, and maybe that's not fair.
But whatever. If Keith was going to make the wrong choice, Lance wasn't going to give him one.

Summary
It was a fairly simple spell, they said. The simplest they could cast that would be equal to the favor team Voltron asked of them. The specifics still elude Lance. What he does understand is this:
One of the Paladins has to get knocked out.

Summary
It was, he justifies, practically a life or death situation. It's entirely understandable that in the face of the mission stakes, he threw his whole self into it. Really into it. For the sake of believability, that's all. Life or death. Yeah.
And now, whenever death does find him, he'll go down knowing exactly what Keith's lips feel like against his; what Keith's tongue tastes like; the grip of Keith's hands on his body; the hardness of Keith's hips when Lance presses against them. Never in a million years did he think he'd ever know such things, but now he's never going to be able to un-know them. Hell, he can almost still feel the heat of Keith's hand through the fabric of these shitty uniform pants.
He almost wishes he could un-know it all, because then maybe he could forget how much he liked it.
Maybe he could even convince himself that he doesn't sort of want to do it again.

Summary
There's a tension between between Keith and Lance, something that goes beyond their ordinary stress and anxiety. An energy that fuels the connection between them, and them alone. Something that's been growing stronger and pulling tighter.
Something that may be dangerously close to snapping.

Summary
"He leans in to hook his arm around Keith’s shoulders in full. It’s right in Keith ear, when he speaks. “I have a crush on someone new, like, every week.”
“No—it's not someone.” Keith brings his head up, and it feels as heavy on his neck as if it were his center of gravity, and he meets Lance’s eyes with his own. Keith doesn’t mean to communicate something through their silence, he just kind of gets caught up in staring at Lance’s face, which tends to happen lately. Sharp features, cheekbones and chin. Impossible eyes and a loud mouth as expressive as his eyebrows. But Lance seems to come to some understanding on his own. He sits back in a rare, rare moment of speechlessness, that mouth of his slightly pursed and twitching in its search for words in what can only be, though Keith doesn’t know much about body language, immense confusion on the brink of realization."
Or: Keith acknowledges his feelings for Lance and promptly goes through the five stages of grief.

Summary
Lance is gone.
Lost in the plunging gaps between astral bodies, sewn into an invisible seam in spacetime. Missing, for two long years.
It’s impossible, to think of the time he's already lost with him. Time passes strangely in a war, and stranger still in space. Stars gasp their dying breaths and ripe dust clouds give birth to whole planetary systems. Some light reaches them with its centuries-old fingers and some can’t weather the journey. So many beings shiver and die. Lance would be twenty now. He tries not to think about it.Keith can't bring himself to grieve when he knows Lance is still out there. Instead, he follows versions of him down holographic rabbit holes, trying to pry closure out of his memories, and losing himself to an obsession with the simulated landscapes where Lance was never lost.
