“Buck. You were not the one I was jealous of,” Eddie admits.
Buck stops, he’s stunned. “What?”
“I was jealous of Taylor, okay?” Eddie clarifies for him. Buck doesn’t speak, his eyes don’t meet Eddie’s either. It’s time for Eddie to be truthful. “I mean, how could I not be jealous of her? Like I said, she had you. That’s all I wanted, it’s all I still want.”
“Eddie, you have me! If anything, Taylor always complained that we were too close.” Buck breaks his silence.
“T–That’s not what I mean. She had you… differently.” Eddie lingers, trying to find the right word to describe how he feels. Truly, there are no words that can articulate everything Eddie feels about Buck.
“Differently?” Buck whispers and drifts a little closer to Eddie. Eddie looks up into his eyes, his piercing stare.
“Y–Yeah,” Eddie is at a loss for words, too distracted by Buck before him. How can he say what he means to Buck when there are no words in any language that could ever explain how he feels for Buck? “Just like Abby, Ali, Natalia, and Tommy.”
OR: Eddie Diaz is depressed and alone on Christmas without Christopher while Buck spends his holidays with Tommy.
