_______All For One has been watching Izuku for quite a while now, and when Izuku is attacked by the sludge villain AFO becomes convinced he is no longer capable of protecting himself, stealing him away at the first opportunity.
Of course, by the first opportunity, Izuku's spirit has already been broken, leaving him practically putty in the villains hands.
