An AU which popped into my head a few years ago around St. Patrick's Day. It's set in the early 1900s. Justin is the son of a wealthy NY merchant. Brian is an impoverished Irish immigrant. It could only be the luck of the Irish that brings them together. NOTE: Due to the time in which it is set, this story does describe "unsafe sex".

The request was for:
Fic angst, AU, canon-compliant, hurt/comfort, humor Brian/ Justin- / Gus- Gus is an adult- time could be holiday or family reunion or just visiting B/J- writer's choice. Gus reminiscing about growing up with B/J- Funny stories, harrowing tales, first times, tales about trips they made- anything the writer chooses. Would love at least 2-3 stories ( tales) that Gus shares. B/J could disagree with his memories and they could tell their version- if writer chooses. ( not necessary- just choice of writer)This is the result. It's set in 2029. I think of this as being loosely Homecoming future, but all that anyone needs to know is that Brian and Justin have been living together in Pittsburgh in a riverside house since Justin's return from New York. Justin and Daphne have a daughter – Dani. Brian, Justin, and Daphne are co-parents, an arrangement which works well for them all. Dani is 16, Gus is 29.

Summary
It was a dark and stormy night. A transformer had blown, killing the lights of a large swath of the city. The rain beat hard onto the cardboard roof that provided not much shelter at all. The wind was colder than Hell.
Headlamps pierced the darkness. The long black car slowly turned around the corner and rolled on down the street. There was barely enough light to make out the sigils writ upon it - "Bentley" and "NIAT RUC." It was playing some sort of music, the singer singing And everywhere the broken-hearted, on every lonely avenue. No one could reach them, no one but you. The black car rolled past and continued down the street. Then it slowed. Then stopped.
After nearly a minute, the door opened. The driver got out and took a few steps into the street. The hip-swaying way he walked was familiar.
Very familiar.
