Viktor pulled down the collar of his sweater.
Jayce stopped laughing. “Did I…”
Viktor fixed his collar back to hide the blotchy red skin.
“Why didn’t you wake me?” Jayce exclaimed, reaching out to grab Viktor’s arm.
Viktor didn’t shrug Jayce off entirely, but resumed his intense interest in the discarded prototypes, “I thought you were awake,” he said quietly. His ears had turned a ghastly shade of pink, nearly mirroring the myriad of bites on his neck.
