Summary
Agatha should know better.
It’s generally frowned upon to invite strange women to your home, especially somebody with magic so potent that the air around her seems like an accessory to her outfit. The witch before her wears the space around her the way others would a cloak. She couldn’t pretend to be human if she tried. It crackles, a thunderstorm, and Agatha would be lying if she said she didn’t want to bottle the lightning.

Summary
For a while, things have been good. For a while, Sara has been good— good in the way she never imagined she could be, if she’s honest. Months have gone by where she’s hardly thought about death at all, where it’s been okay that the bedroom is dark at night when the nightlight dies and Ava has to buy a new bulb. It’s been even longer since her bo staff has gotten regular use, since the creak of the steps outside her bedroom has been anything more than Ava going to get a glass of water.
Her life is full, full enough that Sara lets Ava kiss her until she can’t keep her eyes open anymore, full enough that one day, the constancy of her own self-hatred became inconstant.
(Or, a post-canon Sara character study about changing, growing old, and becoming better.)

Summary
Ava refused every attempt that Beatrice made to push her away, working her way into the smaller moments until it was impossible to imagine them without her, and Beatrice knew what it was. It was love. Whether she wanted to admit it to herself was an entirely different discussion.
Of course, Ava wanted to talk about it. She talks about love like Beatrice talks about perfect football weather – soccer weather is what most of her American friends call it, and when Beatrice isn’t thinking, sometimes she calls it that, now, too. Ava talks about love like that: like she isn’t thinking, really. She talks about love like she’s telling Bea what she wants for dinner.

Standing on the escalator, you think of Ava as you head in the direction of baggage claim. She’s the reason you’re here. All she ever wanted was to see the world, and right now, she can’t, so you’re doing it for her. Doing things without Ava feels wrong. And right. Right because with every step, you feel like she’s with you; her picture is in your wallet, and you’re wearing her jewelry: the cross Mother Superion gifted her and her bracelets, and she is with you. She is part of you.
She is here, if not in skin, then in spirit.

“Yuri,” she breathes, her body sighing with relief at the sight of the girl in front of her. “What are you doing here?”
“Now that Christmas has passed, I’m here to see you, obviously,” Yuri answers, like she didn’t fly halfway across the world, like it’s perfectly normal to come to an entirely different continent just to see somebody.
Like people are just that rich. She supposes Yuri Han is.
Kitty inches a little closer, taking a deep breath. Yuri's trademark scent reaches her. She smells like pomegranate and mango. She flew almost six thousand miles, spent over twelve hours on a plane, and she still smells like her soap.
It’s awesome.
--(Or, with Kitty’s scholarship and expulsion up for debate again, Yuri heads to the US after Christmas to hopefully find more reason to convince her mom that she should stay at KISS. It would be a grand gesture – at least that’s what Kitty thinks – if Juliana didn't come along. It’s clearly nothing more than her friend wanting what’s best for her… right?)
