Will Graham has always been able to read minds. That is why he is part of a special organization within the FBI: The Empath Behavioral Analysis Unit, or EBAU for short. As an empath, he is at the government's disposal the hunt down the country's most terrifying of killers, all the while maintaining the barriers within his own mind. After a dangerous run-in with the notorious Minnesota Shrike, he is put on probation, tasked with being babysat by a therapist to better ensure his mental stability.
Hannibal Lecter, babysitter, isn't like other neurotypicals, though. Will can't read him the way he can anyone else. On his best of days, he'd almost call the good doctor interesting.
Romance, angst, thriller, mystery, slow burn, fantasy, obsession, and a disenchanted Will Graham.

“You know, when you were gone I talked to you,” I say quietly. It feels like a confession; it is. It’s also a declaration. “I talked to you all the time. Out loud, in my head; your voice became more real than my own was.”
You don’t answer immediately, just continue stroking my back. “I know,” you say finally. “I know you did Will. I was listening, in my own way. And I heard you.”
Neither of us says anything else, but by unspoken, mutual consent we migrate towards each other and remain as close as possible (my head on your chest, your arms wrapped around me, our legs tangled together) and when I wake up in the morning, for the very first time, you’re still lying beside me.

Their bodies tumbled toward the water, but there was no impact. No broken bones or stinging cold. Will opened his eyes after the falling stopped and gazed upon a green field, Hannibal lying prone beside him. They were bloodied and wounded, the ocean nowhere to be found, nor the cliff face the waves should have sent their bodies pummeling toward.
Or the one in which Will and Hannibal tumble into a parallel universe exactly like their own, with one very important difference: Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamics are now a thing, and they have no idea until they're falling headlong into Hannibal's first heat.

There was that joke, wasn’t there, that went something like, marriage is a death sentence. No—marriage is a life sentence. Just before signing his name on the marriage certificate, he had had a flash of panic—or a flash of sound fucking thinking for once—that told him very clearly, don’t.
