Summary
One Year. It’s been one year since Lottie ruined everything and, subsequently, since she started seeing Dr. Scott. After making absolutely no progress, her therapist decides to assign her an anonymous pen pal to try and break her out of her shell and, hopefully, get her to talk about the reason she’s in therapy in the first place.
Three Years. It had been three years since Nat ruined her own life, was put into the foster system, and started court-mandated therapy. After all this time, she’s still reclusive and defensive, so her therapist decides to find her an anonymous pen pal to try and get her to improve her mental health.

She subconsciously crosses her legs and looks down at her hands nervously, “No, I—am so sorry I really shouldn’t have barged in.”
