Tsumugi heads off to the car first. Meanwhile, Chikage is stopped a second time.
Hisoka stares him down for a while, the look in his one visible eye louder than a long winded lecture could be. “...You are so stupid. Talk to Tsumugi.” And just these few words land like a sucker punch.
He doesn’t have it in him to act dumb. And Hisoka didn’t expect a conversation, he’s already chasing behind the others, light on his feet.
How stupid... Chikage knows, but it’s easier said than done.

At some point Sakuya collapsed onto Taichi’s shoulder, face buried in the crook of his neck, in the smell of him, both hands bunched in fistfuls of his shirt. When he turns his head, his reflection in the courtyard door stares back. More than a year together and seeing himself like this still almost gets him blushing. He looks away, toward the kitchen. Flour canisters and racks hanging with ladles and cheese graters. Normal things. Domestic things. Machines he barely knows how to use, books of recipes he can’t make. In a way, it’s just as bad.
