   Summary

   Nightmare was immortal. He could only die if Dream killed him, or if negativity ceased to exist.

   His subordinates are not. They’ll live and age regularly and eventually die.
   He didn’t know when it sank in. What death truly was. How nothing could stop it. Someday, his subordinates— his friends?— would all die.
   And he’d be left alone.

   So it’s only reasonable that he’s maybe a little bit terrified of what could happen.
