Summary
“What did you mean?” Jean asks quietly, leaning in close. He thinks maybe it’s the closest they’ve ever been outside a fight. Eren’s practically breathing in his shitty body spray. Upsettingly piney. Reminiscent of Christmas trees. “Eren.” His voice holds a warning note, like Eren’s asking to get socked in the jaw if he answers wrong. Jean’s good for it, too.

Eren took a moment to come back to himself once his reverie was broken, suggesting it was the sort of dream he hadn’t wanted to leave. “What if we made it a contest? To see who could knock her up first? I know we said we’d switch off-”
“Eren!”
It was rare for his husband to make him blush after a decade together. But every once in a while, Eren absolutely astounded him.
“What? Are you saying you haven’t thought about it?”

Summary
All Eren's life he has struggled to understand why he is the way he is. He prays and he goes to church, and God never answers him. When Eren's dad dies, Eren makes the decision to ignore all of his beliefs - including the belief that God doesn't make mistakes - and move away so that he can go to school and transition without his mother's judgment on top of God's.
Living as his true self was his only intention when moving away, but then he sees a girl that makes him wonder if moving away and transitioning and meeting her was part of the plan all along.
When he disovers Jeanice's deepest secret - that Jeanice is actually Jean, and he desperately needs Eren's help - he doesn't question his destiny any further.

Jean knows Eren Jaeger as the shithead who sits behind him in History, broke Jean's nose a year ago for an ill-timed comment about his shitty personality he totally deserved, and has been riding Jean's ass for months to get him to sign up for medical school.
As it turns out, the rest of the city knows him as the beast who almost ripped some guy apart.
Or: Eren is a werewolf. Jean's not about to allow that sort of shenanigans.
