He had only ever been Ponytail Guy, in and out in a flash, usually Tuesdays and Thursdays, which Nancy took to mean that he had an early class on campus. The first time he actually sat down to drink his coffee, she could no longer call him Ponytail Guy—firstly because he’d trimmed his hair to the point where it was still shaggy and beautifully shiny, but not ponytail length. Secondly, he came late enough that there was a small crowd and Nancy finally had the excuse to ask for a name for his order.
“Ace,” he’d said with a lopsided grin, as if he could Nancy asked purely for herself and not for the other barista calling out drinks as they finished.

Jughead rounds the corner of the building cautiously, unsure what the muffled scrabbling noise is or what he’s about to walk into. He needn’t have worried because the sight that greets him is more amusing than worrisome; a pair of very toned legs clad in black leggings are flailing spectacularly to wedge through the open window that their owner’s torso has already cleared. They’re sporting a pair of familiar spotless pink shoes that Jughead knows from lit class.
He clears his throat. “Uh, Betty? You okay over there?”
The legs stiffen and then an embarrassed voice responds. “I got locked out of the dorm.”

Summary

The search for the Crown winds up being a job for the seer and the shadowsinger, the male she has fallen for but barely spoken to after an unrequited wish for a kiss.
Azriel has been careful to stay away from Elain, trying his best to follow his High Lord's orders. But as they are forced to work together to protect their court, his resolve begins fading more quickly than he can manage.
As they search for the Crown, they become trapped in a castle of treachery, vengeance, and twisted fates. If they cannot find their way out of it, they risk becoming lost there forever, or killed. And if they can't keep their hands off each other, they might finally have to face the mountain of obstacles standing in their way at the home that awaits them.

But darkness is stirring, and danger is looming. Will Elain be enough to stop the greatest threat she and her friends have yet faced?
Post ACOSF, my take on what will happen next. This one's for all the Elriel lovers out there! This story is going to be a slow-burn, angsty, sexy, mostly-canon, long fic. Get excited.
