Nat drags a cloth down Shauna’s arms, shoulder to fingertips. “How’d you get all this dirt under your nails?” Nat asks. Shauna glances at them, and the dirt bears a striking resemblance to dried blood left on her hands for too long.
“Your hands are dirty, same as mine,” Shauna snaps. She nearly feels bad when Nat flinches.
