Summary
The dinner table, despite being big enough to fit the entire Bridgerton brood plus many of their children, seems so small that in the moment Penelope felt claustrophobic. Or like a burning spotlight is shining down on only her, causing her to heat up so quick that her face resembles the bright red of her early teen years.
It might also have to do with nearly every eyeball being on her in the moment, cursing her fear of being the center of attention anywhere.
"So, you're expecting? Both of you guys? Together, with Colin? A baby?" Gregory broke the silence first in a rush, getting a few Gregory Bridgerton! and glares from much of the room.
Colin looked about three seconds away from throw a glass cup at his younger brother, gritting his teeth and holding his fork in such a threatening way that Gregory does scoot his chair away. "Yes, that is what expecting typically means. Pen and I are having a baby. That's why I invited her here."
Maybe Colin was right; an email would've been better for this.
