Summary
The box slid into his line of sight.
“The fuck’s this?” Ed growled.
“A gift,” Stede said. “It– I know it’s a bit silly, but–”
Leaning forward, Ed wrenched the lid off and threw it aside and the room was filled with the scent of oranges again. He stared into the box, the contents a bit knocked about and bashed. Probably from being stuck in a dinghy. But orange and glistening and–
“I remembered how much you liked it,” Stede said in a small voice.Bookmarked by hansay

Summary
“Happy anniversary,” Ed tells him. He’s got a smile, but he still seems nervous, and Stede absolutely cannot have that.
He surges up into him, tugging him down into a ferocious kiss, unable to stop himself from automatically parting his lips and licking into him. Ed grins, his smile going from anxious to delighted; his hands grip Stede’s hips, draw him in. He’s eager in return, meets his kiss with enthusiasm, gives as good as he gets in tilting his head and meeting him beat for beat.
They part, Stede peeling himself away so he can ask, desperately, “What— How long— S— What?”
“We met two years ago today,” Ed tells him.
“If you’d call that meeting,” Oluwande comments.
“What else would you call it, then?” the Swede asks.
“A living nightmare,” Izzy grumbles.
“A naval attack,” Ivan answers, at the same time Roach replies, “A meet-cute.”
“Disgusting?” Jim suggests.
“Best day of my life,” Ed adds on top of it all, “Or one of ‘em, anyway.”

Summary
The thing is, when you’re Blackbeard you’ve got kind of a reputation to uphold. When you captain a ship, when you lead a crew, when people look up to you, tell stories, build a legend – parts of that legend are always more accurate than others.
And maybe you just let it slide, some of the things people say. Some of the things they assume. Maybe you swagger around and wear black leather and are a handsy bastard and let the stories tell themselves.
Maybe you don't want to talk about it.

Summary
Blackbeard crouched down in front of him, that stupid bright sunshine face still the fucking same, eyes wide and round, as if he had no idea of the monster in front of him. As if he had nothing to be fucking afraid of. Stupid fucking idiot. He brought up his knife, the tip of it pressing under the bastard’s chin, tipping his head up.
