    He’s met with a tall, imposing figure that’s all cheekbone and dark hair and smartly pressed trousers, and Sylvain thinks yeah, this is definitely the vampire I’ve been looking for. He can’t just come out and say that, though, so he puts on his best innocent face as von Aegir looks down at him, lit in profile by his own lantern, as though Sylvain is a particularly troublesome weed in the flowerbeds.

    (Sylvain is very good at both feigning innocence and being a troublesome weed in the flowerbeds.)

    All things considered, Sylvain isn't very good at killing vampires.
