AU: Once upon a time, in a kingdom by the sea, there lived a young sailor named Sinbad. When he is saved from drowning by a mysterious creature, his curiosity gets the better of him. He decides to seek it out, and find out why the creature saved his life. He might be out of his depth when it comes to Merfolk, especially this one, with its bad attitude and seemingly uncaring nature. But Sinbad has never backed down from a challenge before, and now is not the time for change.

Summary
Slightly altered canon. Ja'far never met Sinbad in Valefor's dungeon. Living as an assassin for the last decade, he finds that the traitors Vittel and Mahad must be dealt with, along with their original target, Sinbad. Unfortunately, things go very badly for Ja'far, and he finds the palace dwellers are... kind towards him.
