As the dull ache slowly spreads through his chest and a small golden charm sits heavy in his pocket, Jing Yuan dimly wonders at what point he let her sweet words and sly actions worm their way into his dusty heart. He knows loss, heartbreak, grief, like the back of his hand - to the point he truly believed he would have lived the rest of his life with nothing but a vague emptiness at the death of a comrade.
