Summary
3 years after the disappearance of the arcane and the defeat of Ambessa Medarda's troops, Caitlyn and Vi are trying to live their life as enforcers and girlfriends. Piltover seems peaceful, but the negligence of Zaun from the topside hadn't been kind to the undercity. After a wave of murders and murder-suicides in Zaun reaches the ears of the council in Piltover, it sends Caitlyn and Vi down to get to the bottom of this. The two of them have to find out once again, that Piltover and Zaun are both sides of the same coin and that the power vacuum left by the demise and arrests of the former chembarons was by far greater than anyone was willing to admit.

More than a year later, she still didn’t know if seeing Himiko’s body one last time had been the right choice. On one hand, it should have helped the grieving process; seeing her, knowing she was gone. It meant there was no chance she was still somewhere out there. That final glimpse should have allowed her to move on without dwelling on what-ifs, at least that’s what she told herself.
Some nights, she still tried to convince herself the body wasn’t really Himiko’s, that it was fake, a clone created during the sad man’s death parade that somehow hadn’t turned to ashes. She still told herself that Himiko would be back one day.
