“Do you think we should move Lou Two into the bedroom for the night?”
“God, no.”
TK looks over to Carlos, who’s sitting at the dining room table wearing his adorable glasses, scrolling through a recipe for baba ganoush on his iPad. He raises an eyebrow over the top of the tablet when TK makes a frustrated noise and starts pacing back through the room.
“I just don’t want to freak them out.”
“So you want to freak me out?”
“Carlos! I don’t— whoa!” TK yelps when a strong arm reaches out and stops him in his tracks before he’s unceremoniously hauled down into Carlos’s lap with a huff.
“Baby, why are you spiraling?” Carlos wraps an arm around his waist to hold him firmly in place. “This is gonna be fun, right? You’ve already met Marjan’s parents, her mom is, like, obsessed with you. What’s going on?”
“I’m not worried about me,” TK says, taking a calming breath and adjusting himself so he’s fully facing Carlos and can put an arm around his shoulders. “I’m worried about Marj. This is the first time her parents are meeting Joe and she’s really nervous.”
