“You don’t know who I am?” the omega asked, his voice tentative—just a bit of hope hanging off the end, as if wishing that Xie Lian would refute him. When Xie Lian didn’t, his expression shuttered, just slightly, then he smiled and bowed his head. “This San Lang has failed to properly introduce himself. I am your devoted follower, your most loyal believer, your servant and—”
“Omega.” Xie Lian finished for him, not needing to be told. “My mate.”
Amnesiac Xie Lian recognizes his mate from his alpha instincts alone, but has no clue who the man actually is or how their relationship works. In a mindset from before his first fall from grace, he has some outdated ideas about how an omega is supposed to be treated. “That won’t be necessary.”
Xie Lian had been looking at San Lang’s face, so he only noticed the young man’s hand was moving when he felt the sudden brush of fingers against his hand. The touch was as flirtatious as his words, but the sharp edges of a folded piece of paper nudging into Xie Lian’s palm belied his true intentions.
