Zoro looked up from the floor, and found himself face to face with the steady gaze of his captain. As always, he had to make an extra effort to keep the quickening of his breathing from showing.
Luffy's trademark straw hat sat behind the back of his neck, held by its thin cord, so the unruly locks of his jet hair had free reign to point in every possible direction. Even though his hair was usually greasy looking, Luffy managed to keep an incredible volume in it, which only worsened the urge Zoro had to run his fingers through it, to stroke it and promise him the world in his hands.
