Summary
Izzy lost the love of his life to a shipwreck a year ago. Infamous pirate Captain Black Sam Bellamy had tried to send word to Izzy that he survived his ship going down, and that he wanted to remain dead and retire and even invited Izzy to join him. But Blackbeard, in full kraken mode, intercepted the message before Izzy ever saw it and wrote back no. With a lot of swearing.
Izzy is in a whirlwind of emotions when he learns that Sam is still alive and thinks that Izzy left him. -

Summary
A rival pirate hoping to impress has given Jack a gift. That gift is currently tied up and sitting on Jack’s bed.
James needs to get off this ship. But, he keeps thinking—There is no ‘but’! There is no way this works. He's not the type for indulging some sort of fling at sea with a wanted pirate!
This is honestly mostly just Norrington being oblivious until he finally figures out what everyone else already sees. Combined with Jack being alternately patient and not at all.

Summary
Robotnik headhunts Stone due to his excellent reputation, but Stone is not interested based on what he's heard about the doctor. He's a professional and he's sure as hell not interested in being yelled at or treated poorly by some egghead who thinks he's better than everyone else.
Stone treats everyone with respect and professional courtesy and he expects it in return. So how does Ivo convince him?Their arrangement works out surprisingly well for both of them, right through Robotnik’s disappearance and return. Right up until Stone slips and says something a little too personal. But goddamn it, it should be obvious at this point! He’s not sticking around if Ivo still can’t admit he has feelings like any other human being.
"Ivo. You can't half get this. You can't half commit and then play weaponised incompetence at basic human connection.”

Summary
Robotnik has never seen anyone move like that. Outside of like an action film where the hero takes down 20 bad guys with guns with nothing but a pistol and nerves of steel. It’s not that Ivo couldn’t have handled the situation himself, but really, what was he paying Stone for if not to take care of this sort of nonsense for him?
Ivo was not expecting to be outright distracted by Stone’s badassery. Robotnik knew Stone's military history but seeing him in action is another thing entirely.
It's fucking hot is what it is.
This is not a problem. This is not going to be a problem. Ivo can handle this. -

Summary
The Karemma are very direct in business, but very oblique in romance. In fact, being direct in romantic intentions just comes across as a joke at best or an insult at worst. They are masters of slow, delicate, intricate flirting, and it is all flying straight past Quark. So when Quark is grabbing his arm and patting his back and making outrageous innuendos, Hanok at first assumes Quark is rebuffing his advances by turning it into a joke, and he backs off. But when it goes on long enough, Hanok begins to reevaluate whether Quark is actually interested.
Quark is continually surprised by how he’s fallen into a somehow healthy and functional relationship? He just wishes he understood how to move on from his ridiculous infatuation with Odo. Odo, for his part, finally starts to consider that perhaps that tightness in his chest when he sees Quark with someone else might actually be jealousy. And what the hell is Quark thinking making risky business deals with that one Romulan trader and endangering the entire station?
Can the three of them navigate around their cultural misunderstandings and figure out a happy ending without one of them ending up in jail or dead?

Summary
Bertie just wanted the reassurance that Jeeves wasn’t going to leave. After all, his grand plans of being a bachelor forever would be quite ruined if he didn’t have his valet by his side. So why does it feel like Jeeves is hearing a rather different question to the one the young master is asking?
Or: The one time that Jeeves didn’t want to scheme Wooster out of an unintentional engagement.

A Letter from “Crawly” to Azirapil by mostlydeadlanguages

Summary
This remarkable letter of unknown provenance surfaced recently in the cuneiform collection of the University of West Wessex. Addressed to Azirapil from a Mr. “Crawly,” it appears to be begging for the other’s return to Ur from a western journey with another individual, Abiraham. The relationship between the two (brothers? business partners? friends?) is unknown.

The morning unfairly showed no early warning signs of disaster. The sun was simply pouring enthusiastically into the room, rather overdoing it in my opinion. The consequences of an evening sprung off by Foggy Moreland are not lightly shrugged away, he said with a hollow laugh.

Summary
“My Basilica,” Spriggs reads, “Your friendship is a gift which capricious men such as myself do not deserve. I cannot speak more highly of your loyalty or your patience with my princely appetites. You know that apologies do not come naturally to those whose arrogance is as great as mine, so you must understand that this one comes from the bottom of my heart.
I have missed you nearly as much as I have missed the ocean, Baz.
Yours warmly,Samuel Bellamy.”
(Izzy's longtime partner and favorite kleptomaniac fakes his death for ten years only to emerge from the ocean with intent to pick up where he and Izzy left off. Ed takes some convincing to get on board with the prospect, what with his, Stede, and Izzy's relationship only just starting to even out after his Kraken Era.)

Bookmarker's Notes
An absolutely delightful, completely fucked-up, high-key insane polycule with some of my favourite pirates. This gave me anxiety in the best possible way to watch Izzy just keep choosing to get fucked up by these incredibly mal-adjusted men, and then keep resettling into what he knows he wants in the end.
A fantastic bizarro friendship between Sam and Ed. These boys are so fucking crazy. (like a bag of leeches)
Also, the sailing scene!
