Summary
Everyone agrees to say James T. Kirk is a difficult person to understand. He seems to be made of multiple layers, some bright, some dark. And those who know and love him seek to pierce these layers, at the risk of discovering the truth. Because Jim Kirk was there when Tarsus IV happened. And it is a scar on his soul no one can heal. But maybe they can, if they try hard enough.

Summary
Even the dirt was different here. It crumbled differently, clinging almost. As stubborn as anything, he supposed, that was human.
When you are young and in love things are simple. That is, until the world makes them complicated. Spock meets Jim as a young Vulcan moved to Earth in search of something, but all he found was a crappy t shirt and well... a mess of a neighbor. Nevertheless, they take on the world together, in the way only the two know how. Begins at ages 5 and 7, and continues as they grow both together and apart all the way through Enterprise adventures. For although Space may be the final frontier, Love will always be an unknown in need of exploration.

Summary
Jim and Spock are already together, despite a few little hiccups, before they encountered a certain psychotic Romulan. Than how exactly did Jim still end up marooned on Delta Vega with a much older alternate version of his boyfriend? That's a funny and complicated story.

"Just because you’re good at something doesn’t mean you’re good at everything. You couldn’t compare to my linguistic ability and you know it!”
He frowned. “I could be good at linguistics.” Uhura huffed incredulously. Jim’s frown deepened. “Give me a language and I’ll learn it.”She raised a brow. “Fluently?”
“Yeah, sure.”
Uhura smiled wryly. Oh this was going to be fun. “Fine. Any language I choose, in a month, or you have to report to Admiral Pike completely naked and tell him what you claimed to be able to do, and just how wrong you were. Deal?”
“And if I do it then you have to do something for me? If I do it, you have to tell me your first name, and go on a date with me.” Jim stuck his hand out. Uhura eyed it, considering him for a moment before taking it and shaking it firmly, a smile burgeoning on her face.
“Vulcan.”
He froze. “What?”
“You have to learn Vulcan.”
In which Jim has to learn Vulcan for a bet, and learns a lot more along the way.

Summary
After the events of Into Darkness, Jim is suffering from survivor’s guilt and a multitude of medical problems brought on from having died. Spock and McCoy are doing all they can to help him through it.
The recovery process will include trips to Georgia, trips to New Vulcan, and a whole bunch of “meeting the family”. And of course, lots and lots of emotional and physical whump.
(Set between Jim’s resurrection and the speech he gave at the end of Into Darkness. Keep in mind, an entire year passed in that time, so this will be a long fic. Let me also warn that it is a very heavy story and is very emotionally charged, so it may be at times distressing to read. Much of this is a study on mental health at its lowest.
Btw, you don't have to read the other works in the series to read this.)
