If Hermione had thought this year at Hogwarts was going to be like any other, she was up for a rude awakening. Narcissa Black has been offered an adjunct's position teaching Occlumency for the term, and now Hermione has to learn how to work with her. What could possibly go wrong?
"But my decision still stands. Narcissa Black will be teaching here come autumn." McGonagall held up a hand. "As an adjunct in her particular subject of expertise, and only for the term. You can avoid her entirely if you wish, but I hope you can manage civility in front of the students." Hermione heard the hint of chastisement in McGonagall's voice.
"Of course." Hermione managed a tight smile. "I suppose I shall see you both in September. If there's nothing else?"
"No. That was everything I wished to discuss with you." McGonagall nodded. Hearing a dismissal, Hermione stood up and nodded back.
