Kind soul, cute kid, and your best friend.” Then he swipes to show a photo of Tommy, and well. “This is Tommy. Also tall, but geriatric, not that handsome. And, I can admit he may not be the ugliest man, but he is no god.” he swipes back to the photo of Eddie. “this man on the other hand. Glorious. Magnificent. Carved out of a rock by God himself.” Josh shuts his phone off and looks Buck straight in the eye. “Tell me why- no tell me how you can see that man every day and still date Tommy? I’m being serious tell me.”

“Someone referred to me as your wife the other day.” Buck started.
Eddie choked on air. His cheeks were so pink. Why did he blush like that? Buck was paler than him, and yet somehow he didn’t blush anywhere near as hard as Eddie himself did.
“Do you think of me as your old ball and chain?” Eddie asked, going along with the joke despite the frankly upsetting colour of his cheeks. How was this Buck looking in love with him? Obviously they were comfortable with each other, but still.
Buck gasped, his eyes big, his back straightening out as he got ready to fight with God himself on this topic. Eddie knew immediately the rant he had started, Buck’s mockingly serious voice raising as he stared Eddie down intently.
“I would never refer to my wife as the old ball and chain. You don’t hold me down, you pick me up, you dirty little bitch. You’re the wind beneath my wings. God.”

Summary
“How long have you two been together?” a voice asks next to him. Eddie startles at the low British tones, almost forgetting that he walked over to the bar with Henry.
Eddie shakes his head and looks away, his cheeks flushing at the fact that he had been caught staring. “We’re not.”
Henry looks down at Eddie, confused. “No?” He pauses for a moment, looks in Buck’s direction and then back to Eddie, reassessing. “But you’re in love with him?” he asks gently.
Eddie thought about lying, but there is something about Henry that makes it almost easy to tell him the truth. Eddie also had a feeling that had he tried to lie, Henry wouldn’t believe him anyway.
Eddie’s gaze finds its way back to Buck. Taking in his curls, the look on his face, the way he seems so relaxed and at peace. Buck hasn’t looked this happy in a long time. “How did you know,” is all Eddie responds.
“Because you look at him the same way I used to look at Alex.”
OR Eddie takes Buck along with him and Christopher to Austin, Texas for a Diaz Family Reunion™ at his uncle’s LBJ lake house, where Eddie’s cousin’s new fiancé, Henry, decides to play cupid for Buck and Eddie
