Sunday scoffs, watching the ringlets of smoke dissipate into the night sky. “Flattery won’t get you anywhere.”

“You walking into the ocean.”
The laugh Gallagher lets out leaves Sunday dizzy. He doesn’t think he’s heard a tune like that in his life.
(Or one summer night, Sunday impulsively walks into a bar and meets a hound. His life is forever changed.)

“Is something the matter?” Ayato asks after Argalia, their waitress of the night, returns to retrieve their cleared plates, promising dessert before leaving. “You’re on your third glass of water.”
Neuvillette lets out a nervous laugh, once again picking his glass of water up. “Oh? Am I? I didn’t realize. I was just… My mind has been fixated on an issue I’ve been harboring at the moment. I apologize.”
“Oh, please don’t apologize. Is it about the proposal? I assure you—”
“Commission— Ayato, will you permit me to speak of things of a romantic nature?”
Ayato freezes in place.

How the fuck did he get into this situation? Gallagher should have quelled his curiosity, should have never tried to pacify the man who’s holding him by the leash. It’s dangerous for the both of them.
“You like this Aventurine guy a lot, huh,” he remarks. “I mean, for someone like you to even agree to go on a date with him.”
“He’s…charming.”
Gallagher snorts. “I think it’s all bullcrap.”
“Oh, if you’re all-so knowing on who my potential partner should be, please don’t hesitate to enlighten me.”
Me, he almost blurts out. But Gallagher knows better than to do so he replies with a, “I’ll let you know when I find them.”
(In which Sunday has a lot on his mind. Gallagher tries to lend him a hand. Or at least, he thinks he is.)

Footsteps approach his direction. Before long, the sack covering his head is ripped off Kaveh, allowing him to gasp for breath.
“Archons!” he exclaims as his savior begins to remove the restraints holding Kaveh back. “You don’t know how grateful I am that you…”
The words die on his lips as he meets his savior’s gaze.
It’s unmistakable. Kaveh has seen that skin-tight garb in the news all the time. He could recognize it anywhere.
(Or Kaveh gets kidnapped for some reason.)

“No, no, this one is different,” Lighter assures him. “It’s a tradition in the Outer Ring, particularly during the cold season. If you ever manage to see tumbleweed rolling by even when the cold winds blow, you’re required to share a kiss with your companion to ensure that you’ll have a lot of luck coming into the new year.”
Wise and Belle celebrate the end of the year with the Sons of Calydon (with a little bit of work). Lighter takes his chances in the meantime.

“Lighter, Wise said you liked the noodles at Lumina Square. You should try the noodle shop just in front of ours before you head back! Maybe Wise can take you.”
“Are you secretly helping General Chop promote a new menu?” Wise asks, scrutinizing her awfully blinding grin through a frown. “And I just ate there yesterday with Ben, so I’m good.”
“Ben’s a good friend of ours,” Belle tells Lighter quickly. “He’s a bear.”
“Uh. Cool…?” says Lighter.
“Anyway, once you’re done with Lighter’s tapes why don’t you two go hang out together!” She gives Wise a look.
“I’m still watching the shop, though?”
The look hardens. “Yes, but business is slow today.”
In which Belle is convinced her brother and Lighter should get together, and rope the ladies of the Sons of Calydon into setting them up. Wise is convinced he isn't, in fact, dating the Champion, until suddenly he is.

Wise gives her a look. "Can I pass?"
"Nope!" Burnice cries, punching her fist up into the air. "It's either truth or dare, Proxy, no other options!"
"Why me..?"
Belle dons the most pitiful puppy-dog look she's ever worn in front of him, hands clasped to her cheek in seeming supplication. "Because you're my brother and I love you, and I don't want you feeling left out..?"
Wise makes an attempt to escape his sister's whims while they hang out at Cheesetopia with the Sons of Calydon. Unfortunately, it's not that easy.
