Summary
“Hey.”
Ford looked up, more startled than he should have been. Stanley was looking at him, those familiar eyes still knowing and focused, and his face was very serious.
“Ford…promise me something.”
And in that moment, thirty years of paranoia tripped and died on the events of the past ten minutes, and Ford said “Anything,” without a second thought.
(Another take on the missing scene in the Fearamid, featuring protectiveness, promises, and some long-overdue emotional progress. Also Stan being annoying on purpose.)

Summary
It wasn't Bill—Bill had been dead for years.
It wasn't an attack by another anomaly—they'd fought off their fair share of those.
It wasn't even any of the natural health problems you might expect in men of their age and histories—they'd headed off some of those issues, but were both surprisingly hale and hearty, on the whole.
No. This was something Ford hadn't even thought to fear.
"I'm thinkin' it's probably time for me to call it a day on this sailin' thing and go home," Stanley said. "We’ve both gotta find our own way in the world sooner or later, right?”

Summary
"Come now, Pinefield, you should have known better than to steal from me." Jorge smirked. "And to trap yourself in a dead-end, as well? I knew you were dumb, but this?"
Stan went pale and stifled a terrified gasp.
It would all end here, wouldn't it? Five years on his own, and nothing to show for it except whatever the morticians would find.
He'd need some kind of miracle to make it out of this one.
"Evening, gentlemen."
(It was a miracle Stan needed, and it was a miracle he got.)
(or, i'm taking a page from the GF crew's book and posting a stan twins birthday fic on my birthday instead of theirs because I Do What I Want. >:D)
