It was hard to believe that he was missing college already but honestly after the first day of being doted on, his well meaning mom’s caring attention had turned into prodding questions and judgement about when his grades were coming out (“I don’t know, it’s only my first semester, mom”), why he didn’t call home more (“I call every Sunday, mom”), whether he was staying in touch with the kid down the road who went to the same university (“No, mom, I haven’t hung out with him since I was twelve, and we’re different majors”).
Obi-Wan’s mom meant well but it was only his step dad’s soft hand on her shoulder reminding her not to bombard Obi-Wan that slowed down her roll even a little bit.
(Or, Obi-Wan's long-suffering Christmas holiday with his mom and step dad takes an unexpected but not unpleasant turn.)

With nowhere to clean his fingers, Obi-Wan considered wiping them against his thigh, but Anakin stopped his hand on its descent and stared darkly up at him from where he kneeled. Obi-Wan watched Anakin's eyes dance along the slope of his neck, and Obi-Wan could tell just from his look that a small line of blood must have been creeping down the length of it. Anakin stared at blood like nothing else in the world.
Anakin brought Obi-Wan’s fingers to his mouth and wrapped his lips around the tips of them. Obi-Wan exhaled from the eroticism of the sensation and felt a pulse between his legs as he watched Anakin sup on his fingertips like they carried ambrosia rather than blood.
“You have to be more careful, Obi-Wan,” Anakin said.
