Summary
"People are talking around him, but Wilson barely registers what they’re saying.
He should be paying more attention, he knows he should. He’s the head of the department, and it’s his responsibility to listen and be the compassionate, patient, caring man they’ve all come to know. The man they expect.
That man is nowhere in sight. He hasn’t been for days."

Summary
In a second, all the lighthearted buzzing energy is gone from the room, and Wilson holds his breath because House is doing the thing.
House is standing there with the cabinet half open, his eyes shifting back and forth between him and the cabinet. Then, they finally focus onto him. House's brow furrows and his expression can only be described as sinister curiosity.

Summary
He never wanted to kill himself—at least not any more than a normal person did—and if he didn't use tools, it didn't count as self-harm.
James Wilson is completely normal and he's doing fine, until he isn't. A patient unwillingly drags up Wilson's childhood trauma and now he's overwhelmed, overstimulated, and scratching himself again for the first time in years—but he isn't cutting himself, so it's not really self-harm, right? He's fine.
OR: James Wilson is gay, autistic, traumatised and highly repressed about all of the above.
