Summary
Jaskier only ever sees Geralt at night. The two of them gather like shades in the draughty hall of the castle, huddling close around whatever pitiful sputter of a fire Geralt coaxes up at the hearth. There is very little to say. The cold has long stolen the sing from Jaskier’s song; Geralt, he suspects, is already half-turned to stone.
Cintra fell to winter seven years ago; a bitter, cursed winter, a cold that kills all who set foot in it. Only a fool would venture into the frozen wastes of Cintra now, and Yennefer of Vengerberg is no fool. Not until she encounters a broken mirror and a thieving crow — a crow that is not, in fact, a crow at all.
When the thing that matters most to her is stolen, Yennefer will do anything to get it back. But she is not the only victim of this tangled curse, and the more she learns about Geralt and Jaskier's plight, the less she seems to know.

Summary
“In your opinion, Mr Rivia, is it true that Julian Alfred Pankratz is the best goalkeeper in the world at the moment?” the reporter asks him, smiling as though she’s in on the joke.
“Jaskier isn’t even the best keeper in Arsenal,” Geralt replies, deadpan.
Pankratz's transfer deal from Arsenal to Kaer Morhen Football Club is finalised the very next day.
Geralt is a simple man with simple desires: he wants to play football and get paid for it. He does not want to be photographed while out for a jog, or have his anatomy debated on morning TV, or play any part in his idiot teammate Jaskier's scheme to expose an ex-friend for leaking stories about him to the tabloid newspapers.
