Summary
He was looking for an answer, he’s pretty sure - the answer, whatever that means. He thinks he didn’t want to die without finding it, but life has given him a lot of chances already. Figures he will run out just as he begins to accept it’s time to find a life he can bear living.
He wants to drift away, but there is a weight holding his hand, and it anchors him still.
“You need to hold on,” a voice says to him, “we’re almost there, we’re so close Buck, we’re so close. You need to hold on.”
He would hold on for that voice if he could - he thinks he wants to try, if only so he never has to hear the pain laced through every syllable coming from their mouth. Distantly, he thinks the answer feels within his reach, the one he knows will let him stay, but the lines of it are blurry and he can’t really see it, can’t really figure out what it is trying to say to him.
He drifts away.

Summary
“So, Eddie,” his mother says, making Eddie’s back shoot up rigidly, “it was very nice of you to come to pick Evan up.”
Eddie’s jaw clenches and Buck is reaching out to put a hand on his thigh before he even knows it. He feels Eddie relax.
“No trouble at all, ma’am,” Eddie says in his best treating-annoying-victims-voice. “It’s not a hardship to make sure he comes home to me in one piece.”

Summary
“You found me,” Ronan said. The wind picked up a little, the tiny curls forming on Ronan’s head swaying slightly with the breeze. Adam is suddenly struck with an overwhelming feeling that he doesn’t recognise Ronan, not really. He knows him, always will know him, because every hard line of Ronan Lynch’s soul is etched into Adam’s own. Knows him, because Adam may be a cynical bastard, almost to a fault, but he thinks if souls are real, his always has belonged with Ronan.
“Did you think I wouldn’t?” Adam asks, the slight waver of his voice hinting at the unease he is feeling.
“Post tenebras lux,” Ronan whispers in reply.

Summary
Buck blinks, “They’re my family.”
“Right, I know that!” Taylor laughs, “and I suspect I’ll probably have to like, go to the zoo or aquarium with him at some point, but that’s beside the point. It’s not like he’s your kid or something.”
“He is,” Buck whispers, so quietly he’s not sure whether he’s saying it to himself or Taylor.
“What?” Taylor asks, rubbing her eyes.
He turns, and for the first time since that day on a hospital bed when Eddie had turned his world upside down, he feels the smallest flicker of passion. He has spent the last few months sleepwalking through life, terrified of taking his eyes off Eddie, terrified to keep his eyes on Eddie.
“You said he’s not my son,” he clarifies, “but you’re wrong.”

Summary
She had left in the middle of the night, not turning to look at the cage where the wild beast slept for a second. She ran as far and as fast she could, and only when she reached the middle of nowhere somewhere around Ohio did she stop and think “where am I going? Where will I ever be safe?” And all at once, her heart had only uttered one name, the echo riveting through her body until she could do nothing but immediately run towards the sound.
Evan.

Summary
“Hey, sorry I’m late,” Peter’s enhanced senses picked up the familiar voice from outside the door. “I had a meeting this morning and then I got lost looking for the class… anyway, I’m here for Peter? Peter Parker?”
He frowned at hearing his name, still unsure what exactly was going on. He watched as his teacher continued to stand and stare out the door for a minute before seemingly remembering herself and taking a step back.
“Of course! If you could just go sit next to him until your turn, he’s in the back on the right side.”
The man stepped through the door and Peter gaped with the rest of the class as Tony Stark, in his signature suit and goatee, sporting a pair of red sunglasses and carrying a suitcase walked through the door.
~
Prompt: Okay but what abt Tony going in to Peter’s school for career day? Like where the parents talk abt their jobs?

Summary
Brian’s laugh is startled out of him, and he slaps a hand over his mouth to contain it, but he’s still grinning, mostly directed at Eddie. “You what?”
Eddie grins back. “You told me to do something joyful.”
“Well, I’m sorry I missed it,” Brian says, his smile softening. His eyes are—sparkly, almost. Eddie stares at them in wonder.
“So,” Buck says, very loudly. “A priest in a gay bar. Never seen that before.”
