Summary
“Number 14, Ponyboy Curtis, leading the heat as they round the first curve,” the announcer's voice crackles, booming over the stadium speaker.
The sun beats down on bleachers packed with spectators, whooping and screaming as the boys on the track round the first bend, their arms pumping, legs extended, sneakers slapping on the ground. Darry squints and, sure as shit, Pony is right there on the inside, an arm’s length in front of the guy behind him and pulling even more ahead by the second.
“Run, Pony!” Darry hollers, joining the clamor of voices and banging his hands together. “GO!”
Darry keeps hollering as Pony inches ahead more and more, the clear leader. By the time the group makes it to the far side of the track, he knows that Pony’s gonna take first place - but Coach Anderson taught him well enough that a win’s not a win til the buzzer roars, so he keeps on screaming as if Pony could fall behind any second.
Boy howdy, has his kid brother gotten fast since the last track meet Darry made it out to.
---
In which Darry goes to Pony's track meet, gets vicarious revenge on Paul Holden, and contemplates his little brother growing up. -

Summary
“Ponygirl," Darry sighed, "I don’t want you walking alone.”
“I’m not,” she said emphatically. “Johnny’s walking me there and back. He’s waiting in the lot.”
And maybe Soda should’ve stopped her. Maybe he should’ve told Darry right there and then, or insisted on taking her to the library himself, or gone to meet Johnny in the lot and scared him off of his baby sister’s tail.
But for a high school drop-out, Sodapop Curtis knew a lot; he knew that Pony was 15 now. He knew it was only a matter of time before some boy caught her eye. He knew that she was a good kid, who’d been through too much and deserved some fun. And he knew that she could be with someone way worse than sweet, mild-tempered Johnny Cade.

Summary
“Learned to fully control your emotions, you still have not.”
Luke closes his eyes for a moment, half-heartedly cursing the Jedi who discovered the ability to exist after death. After briefly considering ignoring the reprimand altogether, he sighs, turning to greet the short, green Master who stands before him.
“Hello, Master Yoda.”

Summary
While Din Djarin has been many things, talkative has never been one of them, so all he manages is a ragged “Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum,” before he reaches for his helmet and pulls it over his head.
Of all of the reactions he expected Luke to have, panic was not one of them.
(Or, Din contemplates what the Creed means to him, Grogu learns that he can manipulate the people around him, and Luke loves them both so much.)
