Kaoru stared, the crimson eyes were dim but a lovely warm light danced within them; like a pool of rubies. The figure turned away, but Kaoru reached and grabbed their wrist gently.

Born as a beta, Kaoru's pheromone perception was minimal, nothing outstanding compared to other betas. Heat and rut were always a hit to betas, but something about Rei's was just...different.
Having expectations for what an omega should traditionally look like and smell like, Rei was the opposite of that. Tall and not at all cute in appearance. Cool with androgynous features, a guy lacking in delicacy with a subtle earthy and warm scent. It was a neutral smell at most but held comfort. Anyone could say it smelt good.Kaoru really liked Rei.
