If Pran wanted to be this particular about getting off, Pat would gladly reap the benefits. He laughed again into Pran’s shoulder, suddenly exhausted. “It sounds like we’re writing a song again.”

On his way to visit some clients, the ferry Pran is supposed to take across to the island is delayed, leaving him stuck on his motorcycle with storm clouds brewing on the horizon. The car parked next to him is a corvette, its bright orange colour stands out vividly against the muted colours of the vehicles around it. When the rain finally falls, the corvette's driver offers Pran shelter and, against his better judgement, he accepts.
