"Hector’s eyes were burning slits of fire. They gleamed with malice and hatred rolled off of him like smoke. Apollo’s hand rested on the spear guiding him. Patroclus’ comrades cried out. Trojan soldiers formed a barricade around them. The Greeks tried to break through their ranks. Hector raised his spear. Patroclus flinched instinctually. His eyes scrunched closed. His helmet rolled from his head. He waited for the killing blow.
Hector’s spear rested a thumb’s width from his throat. His eyes never strayed. Their heat never diminished. Apollo held his arms, halting him. The god smiled with eyes that held no warmth. He bore his teeth like a wolf. The god turned to whisper something- Patroclus could only imagine what- into Hector’s ear."
Apollo sees an opertunity and orders Hector to capture Patroclus.
